Prostitution is illegal in Clark County, which includes the city of Las Vegas.  The risk of being arrested is quite real, and becoming increasingly more likely as Las Vegas continues to market itself as a family destination, instead of "Sin City". 

On more than one occasion, local cab drivers have been arrested for pandering in an attempt to aid their passengers in the search for illegal pleasures.  If you are caught by the local police soliciting a prostitute, you will be arrested.

Another risk is the threat of HIV.  Some local health agencies have reported that the rate of HIV infection among local illegal prostitutes is between 30-50%. 

Talk about a gamble! (Side note: as of this writing, no legal prostitute working Nevada's legal brothels has ever had a positive HIV test.)

In addition, reports that hookers are using "mickeys" to knock out their "johns", before robbing them, are also on the rise.

Street Walkers

The above risks are far more relevant to "streetwalkers" than to "escorts". Street walkers are found in number in two areas.  One is on the Strip, between Charleston and the Fremont Street Experience (near the Stratosphere Tower). 

The other is on East Fremont Street, just a couple of blocks to the east of "The Experience"  and extending to the Showboat Hotel/Casino.

A third area, on South Paradise, by the Hard Rock, and including Koval Lane (behind Bally's) will, on occasion also have some activity.

The going street price is typically between $20-50, depending on the girl, length of service, type of service, etc.  While the prices do seem low, it's true: You do get what you pay for!

Call Girls/Escort Services

"Escort Services" may be found by the hundreds in the local yellow pages under the headings "Escorts" and/or "Entertainers".  Also, try walking down the Strip.  Chances are very good that within 5-10 minutes, someone will hand out a brochure containing ads for various girls or agencies.

In general, the girls are very attractive.  And you will pay for this, typically between $150-250 per hour. The girls are all independent contractors, paying the escort service a fee, usually half of the service call fee, in exchange for advertising, protection, etc. 

Exactly what one will get for this $150-250 is one of the true gambles in all of Las Vegas.  Prostitution, is illegal, and the escort service cannot and will not divulge this information. 

Really, it's up to the individual girl, what she will or will not do.  And you won't know 'till she gets to your room.  Do not attempt to ask for this info over the phone, she will not give it to you.  How does she know you're not a cop trying to bust her?

You also need to consider you may be the one calling a cop. Sting operations are on the rise with our local Metro Police. If busted, you will be charged.
