"Hottest" Atmosphere-Rum Jungle at the Mandalay Bay. It's hard to miss the flaming rum volcanos.

Brazilian-A couple of great choices here. Both serve serious portions of meat! If you prefer great exotic cocktails, try the Samba Grill. If your carnivore instincts prevail, we'll give a slight edge to Yollie's

BBQ-Finally, some great BBQ to report! Here's a new place that' shoots to #1:

The Memphis Championship BBQ-Warm Springs and Eastern in Green Valley.

The Texas Hotel/Casino-Honorable mention to the Texas Station Buffet. They have some pretty good (not great) all-U-can-eat BBQ, along with the other solid choices available from the buffet, meriting them some mention.

German-Old Heidelburg, 731-5310, 604 E. Sahara. Again, not much competition in this category. Even so, if you 're craving sour kraut and brats, you won't be disappointed.

Italian-This is the toughest category, by far. There's a ton of great Italian restaurants in town. My advice is to pick the most convenient, whether it's on this list or not...

Gold Coast-Has a burger bar that I can never remember the name of...Eaten there 100's times. My favorite.
Fat Burger-A great, small chain of burger stands in the area. Try the one in the Polo Towers Center, just north of the MGM.

Mexican

Southwestern

Lindo Michoachan, 735-6828, 2655 E. Desert Inn (Very authentic Southern Mexican and Native American food. If you're into goat, this is the place to go) This is one of the better dining secrets in Vegas.
